Adult Sunday 9am Class Starts January 11

Starting this Sunday, January 11, we will resume our study of the New City Catechism, a resource designed to help us grasp the core doctrines of the faith.  Please join Chris Humphrey and our Sunday morning adult class from 9:00-9:45 a.m. in the Green Room (124).  This week’s questions are: Who is the Redeemer? What sort of Redeemer is needed to bring us back to God?  And why must the Redeemer be truly human?

Middle School students (led by Mike) and High School students (led by Alex)  will have their Equipping Classes in the YAC beginning this Sunday at 9am.

Winter/Spring Bible Study Starts January 7

This winter/spring we will study the Gospel of John, chapters 14-21. There are openings to join groups on Wednesday mornings and evenings at the church, starting January 7.  For information or to register, click here. Kid Connect Starts Tonight, January 7

We are excited that Kid Connect is back starting tonight at 6:30pm! Three year olds through Pre-School will be meeting in the main building led by Sarah and Glenn Amos and Kindergarten through 5th grade will be meeting in the YAC led by Seth Watson and Pastor Mike!  We hope your kids can join us as we grow in Christ together! SNY Starts this Sunday, January 11

All students grades 6-12 are invited back to the YAC this Sunday night, January 11th, from 6-8pm as we begin our Winter/Spring semester!  SNY is a time for studying God’s words, playing fun games, and growing in small groups together. We would absolutely love it if your student joined us! If you have any questions about our student ministry program, please reach out to Pastor Mike at mterry@parksidegreen.org.

Young Adult 2026 Kickoff, January 11

There will be a 2026 Kickoff Luncheon for Young Adults after church on Sunday, January 11, at the Knight house (located at 107 Samoa Drive, Akron 44319).  All Young Adults are welcome to attend! 

Board Game Night, January 10

Parkside’s monthly board game night will be this Saturday, January 10th, from 6-11pm in the YAC. There will be plenty of food, tables of games and many people of all ages from the community. It’s a great opportunity to share a hobby, grow in friendship, share Christ and invite members of the community into our church. We would love for you to join us!

Moms Connect Night, January 15

We’re excited to announce the launch of a new ministry for moms with children at home! Whether you’re a new mom, raising preschoolers, chasing school-aged kids, or navigating the teen years, Moms Connect is a time to set aside for encouragement, meaningful conversation, and shared experiences with other moms. Moms Connect will meet on the third Thursday of every month!

Please join us for our first Moms Connect Night on Thursday, January 15 at 7pm, hosted at the home of Christina Romans (891 Honeysuckle Cir. NE North Canton, 44720). We would love for you to come connect, be encouraged and build community alongside other moms.

Respite Night, January 23

Parkside Respite Night will be held Friday, January 23 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM at the YAC. Parkside Respite provides care and activities for children with special needs and their siblings, while parents get a few hours on their own. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Lisa McClure at gatos2McClure@outlook.com. Families interested in attending should contact June Ring at jmring2013@gmail.com. Remaining Respite dates for this semester are: Feb 27, Mar 27, and April 24. 

Parkside Kids

We are in urgent need of two teachers for our 3 year old class. We need to split the class in two and are in need of two members willing to teach. In addition, we are looking for three helpers (do not have to be a member to be a helper).

We'd love for you to join our Parkside Kids team! If you'd like to volunteer, please contact Frances (nursery-preschool) or Julia (grade school) at Parksidekids@parksidegreen.org. Our children's ministry is always in need of teachers and helpers!

Open Gym Nights in the YAC

Looking for some midweek fun and fellowship? Join us Tuesday evenings from 6–8 PM for Open Gym at the YAC! Come shoot hoops and build community in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Bring a friend—especially someone who doesn’t yet know Christ—and let’s share life and faith together! All ages and skill levels welcome! Please note, our next open gym will be Jan. 13th!

Pickle Ball in the YAC

Looking for something fun to do on your lunch break? Join us in the YAC to play pickleball every Tuesday from 12:00–1:30 PM! 

If you can't make it during your lunch break, there are a few Thursday evenings you can join us. The next opportunities are Thursday, January 8th and 22nd from 6-8pm.We have a few paddles available, but feel free to bring your own if you have them. Food will not be provided — bring yourself, a friend, and get ready for some friendly competition!

Linger Longer in the Commons with PrimeTimers

The PrimeTimers will be eating lunch together after the morning service this Sunday!  We will be meeting in the Commons for a special time of fellowship and food. Please contact Beth Wright at (330)221-2130 if you are able to attend, AND you need to bring your own lunch. See you there!

Koinonia Fellowship and Game Night! Saturday, January 24, 6-8:30 pm

Join us for game night and fellowship with friends in the church Commons from 6-8:30 on the evening of Saturday, Jan. 24.  Call or text Lori Ripple at 234-207-8812 to let her know you are coming.  Please bring a warm dessert and a game to play if you are able.

Quarterly Dinner Club 2026

Once again, Parkside PrimeTimers will have Quarterly Dinner Clubs!  If you were part of one in 2025, please sign up again, so that we know you want to continue. 

There will be up to 8 group members, and you will meet each quarter throughout the year for dinner and fellowship.  Dinners will rotate among the group members, or meeting at restaurants is fine.  Members of the groups can be single or couples, and you will decide when and where to meet. It's a great chance to get to know other PrimeTimers at a deeper level in smaller group settings.
