NO SUNDAY MORNING LESSONS

No Sunday morning Lessons! Students are encouraged to attend the Decision Making Equipping class with their parents during the 9am hour!

The next time we will have Sunday morning Lessons is in the Fall!

We are back on this week with SNY! All students grades 6 through 12 are invited to join us back in the YAC from 6-8:30pm for a night with friends worshipping, learning, having fun, and enjoying one another.

We are continuing our theme of “Community” which will take us into the Summer!

All students should bring a Bible and a journal.

May 22 is a big day!

Youth Sunday

• In the morning, our youth group is putting on a “Youth Sunday” for the 10:30 morning service. Our students will be ushering, greeting, helping with coffee, running the sound booth (nothin’new here), and leading the worship service! This is a way for our church family to connect with our students and it gives our students a really cool opportunity to use their gifts to serve the church! We will be highlighting the upcoming Mexico Missions trip and recognizing our graduating seniors.

Celebrating Our Seniors

• Then, in the evening, from 6-8pm back at the YAC we will be celebrating our seniors with a cookout, mini-graduation service, games, and some other fun things planned. All parents of graduating students are welcome and encouraged to come! More details in the coming weeks.

Spring and Summer Calendar is here! Make sure to add these dates to your family calendar!

Here are some important notes:

• June 11-18th is our Mexico Missions Trip.

• July 10th will be our Summer Kickoff and this will be the day that we welcome our new 6th graders, new 9th graders move up into High School, and parents will have an opportunity to connect with their students small group leaders!

• “Summer Small Groups” are going to be our weekly gathering throughout July and August. We want to take advantage of the Summer months to be intentional about our relationships and creating community. So the idea is that we will meet in host homes or other places (e.g. parks, ice cream shops, etc.) for weekly small group hangouts that will include time to just hang out, a short lesson from Scripture, and some time in discussion and prayer.

Pastor Jonathan sent me this article about a week ago and, even though it is sobering, I thought it is important to pass along to parents. Like so many others (including myself) this author is noticing an alarming trend of loneliness amongst American teens today. My hope is that parents, youth workers, teachers, coaches, and mentors all begin to grasp some of the root causes of this and begin to work together to help combat loneliness both our own lives and in the lives of our students!

Students need each other!
